Video of the Week: Yellowjackets, Hornets & Wasps... Oh my!

Our featured video this week comes courtesy of Hal Coleman, entomologist in Atlanta. Hal talks about the differences between wasps, hornets and yellowjackets. The highlight of the video occurs halfway in, when he hoists an extremely large bald-faced hornet nest up near his head.

We have some yellow jackets that don't seem to bother us but I don't know where they are nesting. They just hover around the house and it seems like nothing is there. I would like to know how to get rid of them if they are a danger to our garden of flowers where they don't seem to be at the time. I really have no idea what they're doing besides hovering around us and the house or in the garage. Are these the type that nest in the yard or tree or where? I've seen them go under our roof tiles and in the gutters but I don't see a nest forming. They appear very fat but I have no idea exactly what they are. Can you help?
